After you have downloaded the new blogger theme you want to use for your blog in either .zip or .rar format, use file extractor to extract the file so that you can see the .xml file.
Then open the xml file with code editor and copy the xml code from top to bottom to paste it in your blog.
Note: Before installing a new theme or make new changes on your blog, it is important that you first make a backup of your custom gadgets, and the old theme, for future use or if you want to revert to it.
How to Back up your old theme
Go to your Blog > Theme > Click on three dot and click on the Backup / Restore button > then click Download theme.

Copying the new theme code
Click inside the code, highlight from top to bottom and copy. For PC shortcut (Ctrl + A) to highlight all, and (Ctrl + C) to copy

Paste new code to blog
Go back to your blog > Theme > Clickon three dots and click on the Edit HTML.

Click inside the code, press (Ctrl + A) to highlight all, and paste the new code by pressing (Ctrl + V).
For mobile user, Change your browser to (Desktop Site) in the navigation menu of your browser.
Then > Edit HTML > Long press inside the code and select all, > press backspace to delete > long press again and paste new code
After you have replaced the code click on Save theme. That's All, You have successfully changed your blog template.
